My name is Matthew Crowley and I design objects, interfaces, and interactions.

I am a fifth generation Coloradoan who just graduated from Stanford University with an engineering degree in Product Design; I now work at Apple. I've always been fascinated with how things work and how things are made and I've let that curiosity guide me through my life. The best part about this major is that you get to work with other, equally curious and creative individuals who make you want to do your best work.


Being taught the Stanford/IDEO design methodology (nicknamed that by professor David Kelley) gives you several powerful tools that help you not only make cool products, but cool products that people have an actual need for. Empathy is our secret weapon, but so is keeping our sense of wonder and curiosity intact as adults, something that I think many people have beat out of them at an early age.


I've always found myself happiest when I have more than one project to work on at any given moment, especially when they are in vastly different realms. There is no better way to learn something, and quickly, than to give yourself a project requiring you to figure out how to do it. This essentially sums up my entire experience at Stanford these past 4 years, and will hopefully describe my upcoming work at Apple.
